My work involves collecting, assembling, layering and morphing three dimensional material and wax. The pieces are often created out of, or inspired by objects that function as extensions to the inherently limited capacity of human beings. Using the interface between image and object in my work, I reflect on the similarities between humans and their tools. By using intercultural materials (the cup, the bowl, the spoon) my work engages the viewer to recognize that despite cultural differences, it is our shared limitations that make us the most human.

I am an artist who loves handmade papers, ephemera, and color. With the use of encaustic paint and encaustic monoprints I am able to present these materials with a depth and allusiveness that only wax can achieve. The manipulation of the wax creates an interesting texture that adds to the complexity of my paintings.
